Overview.
The Sunday Night Social League is an occasion for both new and experienced curlers to curl in a non-competitive, fun, and social environment. An opportunity for new curlers to learn the game while providing more experienced curlers fresh challenges as they move up the ranks and try out different playing positions.
This league runs as a "Tag" format, meaning each week new teams are made up from those who have shown up to play. As the emphasis is on social curling, the tag system allows you to meet and play with new people throughout the league. Games are at 7:00 pm on Sundays.
The Sunday Night Social League is open to individuals as well as couples. Couples can choose to curl with or on the same ice as their partner/friend or curl on different teams/sheets of ice. Every effort is made to arrange balanced teams with a mix of skill and experience. As this is a social league, it’s all about having FUN!
Rules and Other Info
With the "tag" format, you should arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to your assigned time and put your tag in and you will then be placed on a team for that night to play. You will then be placed on a team for that night and every effort will be made to put you on the position requested, however, it will depend on the number and experience of those attending.
Couples or friends wishing to play together / on the same ice for the season are to advise the covenyors / co-ordinators.
The club has two schedules to its season
- The first is from the opening in September/October to the Christmas/New Years break and the second starting in January and going to the closing in April. Exact dates to be announced by the club.
- For each schedule, $20.00 per person will be collected for snacks.
- Snacks will be provided each week. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.
- The focus is in fun and socializing, and so wins and losses are not recorded.
Dates to Remember 2026 - 2027 Season
Sunday, October 4 - First schedule begins for Sunday nights
Sunday, December 18 - Last Sunday night for the first schedule
Thursday, December 24 - Saturday January 2 Club closed for the holidays and ice maintenance
Sunday, January 3 - Second schedule begins for Sunday nights
Sunday, February 14 - No Sunday Night Curling - Club closed for the Family Day weekend and ice maintenance
Sunday, March 28 - No Sunday Night Curling - Club closed for Easter
Sunday, April 4 - Last Sunday night for the second schedule
