The Friday Night Mixed League is a "Tag" format meaning each week new teams are made up from those who have shown up to play. The League is made up of a mix of experienced and new curlers. Every effort is made to arrange balanced teams with that mix of experience. The league puts an emphasis on social curling so the tag system allows for an opportunity to meet as many members as possible in a shorter time period.
You must register for this league. It is individual entry but couples or friends may request to play together. This will be accommodated to the extent that you could be on the same team or the same sheet of ice, but due to the format we do not make up entire teams from these requests.
This year there will be a new format with only one draw at 8:00 pm with registration capped at 56 people. Bye weeks will be assigned throughout the year and distributed equally among the members. Those who have a bye week are still welcome to come to the club and enjoy the after curling snacks, or play if we have less than 48 people that night - spots for subs will be given out on a first come, first served basis.
If you are considering trying curling for the first time, we highly recommend you sign up for a "Learn to Curl" training course. There you will get basic training on how to play the game and, as it is played on ice, how to do it safely. With this training you will feel much more comfortable when you come to play in a league.
